The functional objective in the design of a central city block in Hyvinkää was to develop an attractive shopping centre offering diverse services. Glass roofed internal streets form the backbone of the shopping centre by connecting the business units of various sizes.

The junction of the internal streets widens to an internal square opening into the side of the railway track. It creates a new motif for the city centre especially during the darker seasons when it is illuminated.

New buildings have been designed aiming at unifying the urban structure. The most important of the existing buildings, the functionalist Ahjo building is intended to be restored to its original shape. Street facades have been unified by improving the facades of the existing commercial building and by adding new business and residential buildings.

Under the building complex there is one parking level for 800 cars. The shopping centre will be connected with the railway station tunnel.
